  • Worked with subject matter experts to understand how furniture sales people use the PriceBook when discussing options with a customer compared to how they use it when specifying the details of an order for manufacturing.
  • Researched the structure of a future online specification tool to understand the data requirements for a more standardized and streamlined system of ordering.

Background:
A furniture manufacturer specializing in products for hospitals and patient areas.medical environments faced a challenge to adapt their sales, ordering, manufacturing and delivery processes to the streamlined BAAN Enterprise System of their parent company. The cost saving and efficiency benefits of the new system were great, but the company's dealers and sales people were tied to the existing system. 

The transition required significant changes to the way that sales people thought about the sales process and specifying products for manufacturing. Our team redesigned their PriceBook to make the new process clear and manageable.
